This system primary purpose was to provide up to 2.5 Terrabytes of network accessable storage, or 10-20 times the capacity of most home PCs. I have a very large audio, video and data collection that I needed to be accessable online at all times.

 

The symetric design evolved from repeatedly laying out the redundant components to find a workable configuration. The inverted triangle shape that resulted optimized the wiring distances between components and was a perfect fit for the open partition wall that it was to reside on.
